The Power of Change: You Have the Power to Change

Wisdom Scripture

Isaiah 28:29 (NIV)

“All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent.”

Wisdom Quote

“From 1 Corinthians 1–3 it is almost certain that Paul identified the wisdom from God with God’s saving deed in the crucified Christ, particularly in the proclamation of the saving event.” It relates primarily to “the revelation of God in the cross.”¹

Insights: God’s Promised Power

You can experience lasting change through God’s power.

With a singular focus, a clear plan, and sustained effort, you can transform—one trait at a time. God’s power provides the strength you need to build your character and overcome what once felt impossible.

God promises all the power you need to live a godly life. In his second letter, the apostle Peter writes:

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

2 Peter 1:3

The same supernatural power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you.

Scripture teaches that when you trust in Jesus Christ, you are delivered from sin’s penalty. Then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are gradually delivered from sin’s power. One day, when Jesus returns, you will be fully delivered from sin’s presence.

When you trust in Christ, God sends His Spirit to dwell within you. Today—right now—you can live a godly life and begin overcoming sin’s power through Him.

Jesus promised an “abundant life.” Is that what you are experiencing?

“I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.”

John 10:10

You can respond like Jesus—even in traffic, even when your kids push your limits, even when coworkers frustrate you, even when you fail yourself.

Create a practical plan for growth—think of it like a “couch to 5K” plan for your character. You will stumble along the way, but you can get back up and keep moving forward in God’s grace.

Like the apostle Paul, my heart is for your progress and joy in the faith (Philippians 1:25). You don’t have to stay the same.

You can change—by God’s power.
